MapTap is a geography and history puzzle game where players explore real-world locations through past events. The game creates a novel sense of intellectual adventure, with each daily challenge leading you to unexpected lands and stories.
The rules of MapTap are very easy to understand. Each day, you will be challenged with 5 different locations around the world. Your task: rotate, zoom in, zoom out the 3D globe and "Tap" (touch or click) the location you think is most accurate.
The fun part? Your score is calculated based on the distance from the point you "tap" to the actual location. The closer, the higher the score.

What makes MapTap unique is its historical "twist."
MapTap doesn't ask you "What city is this?". They tell a story. Each location is linked to a past event, especially those that happened on that specific day.
For example, instead of displaying "Find Toronto," MapTap might say: "Find the location of the Mackenzie-Papineau memorial, honoring Canadians who fought in the Spanish Civil War."
Similar to Wordle, you only have 5 locations to play each day. This creates a fun routine.
MapTap’s 3D globe is spinning really smoothly. There’s a certain satisfaction in swiping and dragging the map from the North Pole to the South Pole, looking for a tiny island, especially on a phone.
If you guess too far wrong, the game will "curse" you as "World's worst explorer." It sounds a bit harsh, but it motivates you to play again for "revenge" the next day.
MapTap is not just a game; it's a journey. Each day, you not only improve your map-reading skills but also gain a fascinating piece of history.
